The problem with close in hunts is the terrain/reflections. Some 
experiments we did a year or so ago showed that we could accurately get 
a bearing to the transmitter at distances as short as 5 - 10 feet or 
less. We did have to play around with the antenna height and ground 
planes to get that consistent accuracy though.
