My first piece of "equipment" was the Handi-Finder, and I found both
transmitters with it ahead of far more experienced hunters. Using it
caused others to start using better tools for finding the transmitters :).
One of the problems with a TDOA is that it best works for vertical
polarization. The other problem is that without modification, there is
ambiguity in the direction, i.e. it could be either straight ahead, or
straight in back of the direction the TDOA unit is showing.
ISTR that there is a mod on the HomingIn.com website to allow the
pattern to be changed to remove that ambiguity.

This is a great book, and one I wore out when I first started
transmitter hunting :). Slight correction, the authors are Joe Moell
K0OV and Tom Curlee WB6UZZ.
