You can sub a plain old and very cheap 1N4007 rectifier.  Don't use a 
lower voltage such as 1N4003, etc.  To get the 1KV rating, the 4007 has 
an extra undoped layer, hence P-I-N.  They're not specified for RF, as 
their primary purpose is a 1-amp rectifier.  But they work fine.
