Greetings to all on the list...

I want to announce a new DF I've recently added to my website, it can be
found here :

http://www.silcom.com/~pelican2/PicoDopp/PICOPLOT.htm

This is not a Doppler DF, it is a regular signal-strength DF, but with an
RS232 output and an IBM PC / Windows display program that generates a slick
polar-plot display. Suitable for portable, mobile or base operation, but
some non-trivial assembly is required and the user must provide a reciever
with an RSSI output and a display computer. Not for beginners...

Feedback from 3 beta testers has been very good. I'm not real happy with
the display program installation wizards, ( some bugs ) but that hasn't
prevented very good results from all the beta users so far... One used it as
a portable/handheld DF, the 2nd with a tower-mounted Yagi and rotator, the
3rd with a mobile "radar style" pedestal, using a stepper motor.

This DF is quite novel and unique, and it does some fairly clever things
( in software ) to make it all practical. Not everyone will want or need
this DF, but for people that have already been thinking along similar lines,
this DF should provide the means to realize those plans and dreams.

Questions or comments can be addressed to me : pelican2 at silcom.com
