Hello fellow foxhunters,
Sure wish I could make one of the orienteering hunts out on the west
coast.
The weather forecast for Sunday's foxhunt here in Illinois is mostly
cloudy. Highs in the middle 50s. Northwest winds around 15 mph. At least
it won't be raining.

Announcing the Kankakee Area Radio Society (KARS) of Kankakee, Illinois
will hold it's NFW Weekend Sunday May 15th, start time is 19:00 GMT (2pm
CST).
The actual start time is generally between 19:00 and 19:30 GMT.

The Foxes will be the Mother/Daughter team of Cindy N9IOQ and Crystal W9IOU.
Cindy and Crystal were the winning hunt team in KARS April 17th foxhunt
with an astounding low mileage win.
The competition was very close, but the ladies triumphed once again.

KARS foxhunts are mobile hunts, conducted on the KARS W9AZ repeater on
146.94
A new twist to this year's National Foxhunt Weekend is that the hunt
will be in streaming audio via internet.
The streaming audio was just put on the web Saturday night, we believe
the bugs have been worked out,
so this will be a trial by fire if you will.

Be aware, you will only be listening to Cindy and Crystal reading words
of wit and wisdom as KARS foxhunters search for the foxes lair.
You will have to use your imagination about the moves and actions of our
tenured hunters!

Listen in, send an e-mail stating the winning callsign to be announced
at the end of the hunt.
We would love to see how many tune in worldwide...
If you would like to receive a W9AZ QSL card, send an SASE and a brief
note stating the announced winning callsign.

73' to all of you, good hunting!

I have only used win amp (part of netscape browser)
I do not know what other sound players will work, I have done no
experimenting with this as it is brand new to us here at KARS.
