Yes, they have memory. There are straight pieces for sink hookup. The HDPE can
be straightened by heating. The elements go through the boom with a force fit.
The whole construction is plastic. The electrical length has to be adjusted to
keep the front to back ratio. I would think slightly longer, there are scaling
formulas out there. I use the trial and error approach, cut them long and trim
to maximize the pattern. I am using a broadside array of 2 element Yagis spaced
at .5 wavelengths. Driven elements are folded. Front ot back could be improved
with 3 elements. The pattern is sharp for for vertical polarization, but has no
advantage on horizontal signals. Has good bandwith. The boom is 1.5 inch HDPE
tube with the HT and compass strapped to it.
