NOT SO!

If a hunter takes readings while standing still he/she will record the same
error all day.  You must keep moving and average the heading both with the
beam and the "brain" factor,  Never stand still as you don't know for sure
what you are reading.

Of course, if you are a few feet away this may not apply, but otherwise..
KEEP MOVING!
