Hey Tony that sounds pretty good!
The thing I like about my Flex is that it's not rigid.  I can toss it into
the back seat let cadets sit on it etc and it still works ok.  I use a
single piece of "tape" and 121MHz gives longer elements.  In high winds it
does buzz around a bit I've never had it collapse and I don't see any
noticeable effect from the flutter on recv.

You can layer tape for a more rigid effect.  I've not done that except to
experiment.  It seems to work ok but as I mentioned the flutter doesn't
bother me yet so I don't bother.

The Drilling of holes in the tape is a success.  I find you have to use VERY
small drill bits and work up in small increments.  Also don't expect self
taping screws to "enlarge" the hole.  They don't.  At least not in my
experience.
