I am considering a swap of my FT-901DM for a FT-980CAT.

I read on the internet that the power supply for the 980 has a history
of failure and that Yaesu no longer supports the rig.

Anyone familiar with the 980?

I am wondering if the voltage outputs of the power supply are standard
(e.g. 12vdc+ and 5vdc+) or something more exotic?

If pretty standard I wouldn't be troubled if I had to rig something to
patch in the DC, but if real odd-ball -- or really complex to get at the
power supply outputs then I think I will have to pass on the swap.

Your wise and informed counsel, please? :-)
