Very interesting.....

When the RX goes to zero, unplug the coax and connect it to the RX IN 
(RCA) connector port on the rear panel.  This bypasses the relay.  If 
all is well on the RX port but not thru the SO-239, then something in 
the relay/contacts is not right.  There is an RCA connector onthe rear 
which goes directly to the receiver.  I forget if you did this before...

If you get signal thru the RF Port but not thru the SO-239, then the 
relay or relay circuit is the only active part...  Hmmmmm....

By triggering the PTT/MOX you trigger the relay.  You are getting close. 
  There are only a few parts here....
