Howdy,

Has any of you had any audio problems with your FT-101E?

Here are the specifics:

1. With the transceiver turned on, I have a moderate level hum. About
32VAC as measured using my scope without the ground connected. The
frequency of the waveform is 60Hz.

2. When the transceiver is turned off and just plugged into the wall, I am
reading 330VAC without the grounded connected. The frequency of the
waveform is 60Hz.

3. The level of the hum is constant irregardless of adjusting the volume
control. It appears to have coupled itself into my speaker.

4. The power connector is a two prong plug. Did Yaesu have a three prong
plug type for the FT-101E?

5. I have a late model transceiver with a serial number in the 220xxx
range.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

JR

Please explain. Is the silver dial with the scale on it slipping? If
so, just replace the felt. If it is the shaft, then you need to replace
the Jackson Ball Drive itself, about $10 bucks...
