Long before computers, RG-62 was used for tapping IF's for monitor
scopes. Its high impedance, low capacitance which means less detuning of
the tuned circuits. Auto radio antenna feedline is very good for the
same reasons.

And its true that the incoming signal will have been cleaned up by the
receive filtering.
