[Fox_Tango] FT-7B Voice Synthesizer

A local blind Ham is having great difficulty to operate his FT-7B when he
has no idea what frequency the dial reads.  He manages to somehow find his
way around the band by using the calibration marker signal as a bookmark.

The FT-7B has a socket for an external digital display and I thought of
using this output to drive a voice synthesizer.  Before I reinvent the
wheel, does anyone know of a voice synthesizer project for the FT-7B or a
successful project that I can adapt?

I also need the schematic diagram of the external digital display.
www.mods.dk has no FT-7B diagrams.

Your help will be appreciated.
