Generally the domestic tubes require a different value of neutralizing
capacitor accomplished by changing the fixed capacitor in series with
the variable neutralizing capacitor. Sweep tubes were only designed to
work at 15.75 KHz and significant differences in capacitance did not
affect their intended application. Sweep tubes are not very linear
(compared to a 6146 or 807) and don't interchange will in RF
applications. They do offer large plate current capabilities for their
plate dissipation power rating and so allow larger peak power outputs
than good linear tubes in similar sized envelopes. But don't run RTTY at
full power or whistle too long, the glowing plate can melt the glass and
the vacuum will suck it in and modify the electrode alignment.
