Anyone ever tied a Drake receiver in as a second receiver with the 902?
My Drake transmitter is down and may be so for awhile and I've been thinking
of trying to use my Drake R-4B receiver as a second receiver. I'm not sure
about a couple of the connections listed in the 902 manual.
Connector 11 (Tone) - page 8 - is listed as a sidetone output for a second
receiver. That sounds like it would provide sidetone audio to the receiver
during CW transmission.
Connector 14 (A-Trip) is listed as the anti-trip (anti-vox?) feed from the
second receiver.
The problem is, that for the Drake receiver, there is one line serving as
both anti-vox and sidetone. Sidetone from the xmtr during CW and anti-vox
audio from the receiver during voice transmission.
Also, in addition to a way of providing CW sidetone audio to the Drake
receiver from the 902, and anti-vox from the Drake to the 902 for voice
operation, I need a way to mute the Drake during transmit. Normally this is
accomplished simply by breaking a connection through a length of cable from
the transmitter to the receiver during transmit mode.
