Wow, thanks John for getting my curiosity up about pre-70's Yaesu's.

By the way - I understand that the line voltage in Japan is, or was, 100V.
The other taps are for export.  For instance, the fan on a FT-101 series is
a 100V unit.  Although the rig can be wired for 110, 117, 220, etc, the fan
goes on the 100V tap.
