I have for sale a Yaesu FT50 dualband (2m/70cm) in very good condition, and
it has the voice recorder feature installed in it. This allows you to
record audio off of the air to play back, or record your own voice like a
voice keyer. This would work really nice for FM contesting, or to use as a
link radio to your HF rig, where you can record CQ CONTEST messages on the
HT and have them replayed on your HF radio. You can operate a contest
while out of the shack.
The FT50 is rated at 5 watts out with a 9.6 volt battery, it is water
resistant, so you can use it outside during a rainstorm, and will do dual
watch between 2 frequencies, which is identical to dual receive, and it
will also receive the FM broadcast band, as well as most frequencies
between 50 and 950mhz for wideband scanning use.
The power button on this HT needs to be replaced. Once it a while you can
get it to work, but much of the time it doesn't. That is a common issue
with the FT50. When the power button works this HT works fine.
It comes with 2 NIMH batteries that need to be rebuilt, 1 NICD battery that
needs to be rebuilt, and an LiON battery. The LiON battery will hold a
charge, but the jack in the battery pack for the wallcharger is not
functioning, so you will need to charge it using a LiON type rapid
charger.
The MH-34 speaker mic is included, as is a dual slot rapid charger. It
will charge 2 batteries at the same time, and charging time is about 1 hour.
Also, the FT50 comes with a nylon/vinyl carrying case, the stock antenna,
a manual, the original box, and a couple of belt clips for the various
batteries.
I am asking $80 shipped for this package. Due to the power button issue,
it is being sold AS-IS with no returns, but you can check my feedback in
various places as to the gear I sell. As I stated, the HT works fine
except for the power button. Fix it, and rebuild battery or 2, and you
will have a really nice setup.
I can take paypal/check/MO.
