More FS From The Edge of The N3RHT Abyss...
James Millen 90800 50W Transmitter. This is the 6L6 osc./807 amp version. With tubes. Looks unmodified but underneath it has that variable bias mod or whatever that was that appeared in QST for this rig--I don't think I've ever seen one of these without that mod. Nice looking in all respects. With some coils: 2-43082 (80M), 1-43042 (40M), 2-43022 (20M), 1-43640 Cathode Coil. Also includes the rare original manual....which of course is just a couple typed pages inside a ratty old folder, The original bluerinted schematic is also included, as is the original sales receipt dated April 29, 1947 from Jordan Electronics in Erie, PA. In the back of the manual folder is a 1946-47 James Millen Catalog. $130/all
Heathkit TC-21 emission-type tube tester. In a burst of ambition, I compared this to my totally accurate and trustworthy Precison 912 (also an emission tester) by testing the same tubes on both. This one reads consistently low. So it is working--the circuit is intact. But it probably has a bad rectifier or bad PS caps inside. Looks nice but missing 2 of the lever knobs. With original manual, spare roll chart and supplemental tube data from 1962. As-is. $19
T-19.ARC-5 1945 vintage WWII TX that has been almost gutted and converted into an antenna tuner. What is interesting about this is that the conversion was done with no unoriginal holes EXCEPT on the rear chassis apron. It has gorgeous paint and the front panel is really nice. All the covers are on it and in beautiful condition. So I dunno, I had this crazy thought that this could be combined with the guts from a drilled-up unit to re-make it into an 80M ARC-5 TX. Or not. Maybe just use it as a tuner. It is well-made and uses the ARC roller inductor. As-is. $25
Military 1950s? AM-65/GRC audio amp section from the RT-70. Just the amp section--no radio or cables. Beautiful original condition. $35
McElroy Radio Telegraph Signal Recorder RRD-900-42. This is an ink on paper tape recorder. You can connect it up to a key or to a radio and switch between them to make a paper record of the code received or sent. It's in dots and dashes of course. So it isn't doing a translation of code to alphabet. And it has no buffering ability (no storage) so I wonder how fast it can go? This seems brand new and includes 5 or 6 rolls of paper tape. It has a stamp on it that says MFP- 1951. Very simple DC motor design. Recap it and have it running in 20 minutes. Uses regular old inkwell ink, like for a fountain pen. I think it is complete and would not take much to make operational. Cool toy for CW guys. $39
Spinner Knob. From Yaesu TRX I think. Weighted spinner in perfect shape. $10
National dial--as seen on the SW-3 Radio. Good looking but dirty. I think the 2 mounting studs at the top are still usable though they are rusty. Some TLC and this will look great on your regen. $25
Toy microphone--small round tin mic with tin base, all painted brown wrinkle finish. The cord has been changed to zip cord. $10
HW-101 complete set of knobs, all in nice shape. $15
1940's TV Magnifier/ Stop squinting at your old 7 inch TV! use this huge plastic magnifier with it and ALL your troubles are over! I can't figure out how this was supposed to stand in front of the screen. It has a leg that folds out and height adjustment on the side but it would be difficult to position in front of a tabletop TV. The plastic has some scratches but is in remarkable good condition. These are uncommon. $45
All prices plus shipping. Pickup free in Pittsburgh, PA.
