Hi,
I have a FT-1802 that transmits, but is deaf as a doorpost. I'm pretty
sure that the problem is a bad MOSFET RF amplifier as it does receive
weakly (it only hears the local repeater which is normally full scale of
the "S" meter bargraph very weakly with no bars showing). We had a
hailstorm (no lightning) here a couple days ago that produced a lot of
static in the HF rig and I suspect the front end succumbed to a static
charge.

Normally I'd repair it (retired electronic tech with 50+ years
experience), but that MOSFET is almost as large as the head of a
straight pin with 4 legs. Shoot, my test probes as well as the
needle-point tip of my soldering station are fatter than the device itself!

This rig has served me well for 4 years (bought June 2007) and this is
the first problem I've had. I'm replacing it with a new Yaesu FT-8800
(same as I have in my pickup truck). So, it's being sold as a parts rig
without microphone and bracket (spares for my FT-8800's :) It may also
work well as a transmit-only APRS rig if you need a tracking set-up.

Comes with the factory owner's manual and I'm asking $30.00, a Money
order or cashier's check gets it mailed to your door (USA only) via
Priority Mail. . .
