First - Thanks to the group - several of you have bought some of my
collection which helps me with bridge funds for a new venture I am starting
with my son. I still have the following for sale. I will consider terms to
finance the equipment purchase. I will also consider counter offers. Please
email for price and pictures.
Collins KW-1 -- only 150 built -- this is the latest serial number known to
exist.
KW-1 SNR 149, spare HV PS Filter Choke, spare HV Plate Transformer, Solid
State HV Rectifiers, copy of manual Original Paint, un-restored and complete
original unit. The unit is in excellent electrical and physical condition.
Only 150 of these transmitters were manufactured. Today only a fraction of
them survived. Of the survivors, most are rust buckets or have been
cannibalized. This transmitter is the considered the Holy Grail to Vintage
Radio Collectors. It is the center piece of any vintage radio collection.
No other amateur transmitter is considered more desirable.
Collins 20V -- total restoration -- restoration pic are available -- DDS VFO
Included ($1K value alone) Setup for 80M.
20V Copy of manual, Integrated Digital Synthesizer DDS VFO, 12 VDC Power
Supply, internal High Power T/R Antenna change over relay This is an Art
Deco piece of art as well as a work horse for the AM Broadcast Industry
since the 1950's and even until today some units are still in service. The
transmitter was designed to be a show piece for display during "tours" of
the broadcast station. It is two tone painted with rounded soft features,
chrome metal trim pieces, and large glass window that exposes the "GLOW" of
the large vacuum tubes operating within. All you need is Line Level Audio
(from a symetrix 528 or any audio mic mixer), a receiver and an antenna.
Collins 30K1 -- the band switching 30K1 designed for ham band application.
The 310A exciter is included. Just beautiful.
30K-1/310A Includes the 80/40 and 20/15/10 Meter Plug-In RF Tank Coil and
original manual is included. The 30K-1 does not require any restoration.
Beautiful condition. It is believed only 75 units were produced. This model
has the output loading control added to late production units. The matching
exciter is in excellent physical condition and together this pair is highly
desirable to vintage radio collectors. If you can not afford the KW-1 this
is the best second choice for AM operation.
