Hello all, I bought some fishing line as you describe at a local bait shop. It looks great and is certainly strong enough. The stuff I bought is white with a green candy stripe. I bought 2 different thicknesses as well. The problem is that it is "lubricated" with some kind of indestructible wax or silicone that you can't get out of the string. It is easy to work with and looks great, but slips like crazy.I'm planning a trip back there soon to see if he sells "non lubed" line as well. It never occurred to me when I was buying it that it was lubed. I bought about 100 ft of each size and he only charged me about $5.00 (seemed like a good deal at the time!!) I'll report back when I get to the bait shop. 73's Ross W1EKG
