I share your frustration, but put the blame where it belongs...with the
buyers, assuming they're legit!  I occasionally get some estates, including
boatanchors, try to price them fairly, and still sometimes have a long wait
to sell some pretty desirable items.

I have also had some interesting old gear just given to me, or got for next
to nothing at garage sales, flea markets, etc.  So have you all, I'm sure.
So, it balances out, in my estimation!  None of us feels guilty when a
"friend of a friend" drops off an HQ129X needing some cleaning, just to get
it out of their house, for example.  Not only did I get my 129X that way,
but I also got a Drake 1A in similar circumstances!  So, when we see the odd
DX40 go for $200, remember the stuff on your shelves that you got free!

Another thing I noted, not necessarily on Drake gear, but probably 
applicable there is the practice of "shill bidding" by some "groups".  They 
artificially run up bids and the item may or may not fool someone into 
paying a too high price.  If that is the case, you will see the very same 
gear show up several times.  I too don't participate if the price is 
outlandish, and many are.  Just one example, and on one of the swap sites, 
not Ebay, I have seen L75 amps for $1200 plus.  Ridiculous!!!
