GWE III AM Transmitter, $389. This is in a 5 foot wooden rack--very pretty with many matching meters. It uses plug-in coils and puts about 120 watts. This seemed to be working perfectly when I bought it but then discovered a strong parasitic in the exciter. This was fixed and the TX tests out good on 40 meters. No other bands were tested. Needs AC power rewired using 3-conductor grounded line. It could also use new HV connectors for safety. It was all built by N3GWE, Ed Mantick. It was purchased by me in September, 2002 after Ed needed to sell it due to the onset of health problems. Final: 812, Exciter: 6AG7?s driving 807s, Modulator: 45s driving 809s, Power Supplies: Solid State. Ed’s original documentation and coils for all the pre-WARC bands go with it. This uses Ed?s modified Eico 722 VFO. This rig uses plug-in coils and a full set is included. N3GWE Modified Eico 722 VFO notes: Modifications include 6AH6 in place of 6AU6 and power supply changed
to full wave rectifier using a better transformer. Repainted nicely with black case. Looks good. Working perfectly and quite stable after 20 minutes. Pick-up Only In Pittsburgh, PA.

Heath/Zenith 1984-vintage Novice course in vinyl binder with 2 cassette tapes. Looks like agood course. Very good conditor or better. $9

Hallicrafters CA-2 Skyfone radios (a pair). Tube type aircraft receivers, look like 1950s vintage maybe? One isn’t too bad and one has a beat up front panel with the band change knob missing. They look all original and have their original cabinets. $39/pair

Knight Kit KG-696 Signal Generator. Small, solid state unit runs on 1 9V battery. 400kc to 190MC in 5 bands. Uncalibrated output of course. With original box and manual. Looks brand new except for some dust. Has output. I did not check calibration or stability. $28 plus $11 flat rate box mailing with tracking.

Astatic DN-HZ microphone. This is in the best condition I have ever seen one of these. It looks close to brand new. Paint and chrome are almost perfect. This fits the same Astatic G mic stand commonly seen under a D-104 (but no stand is included with this mic). Untested and as-is. $49

Ten-Tec Corsair (the original Corsair with the dark front panel) HF Transceiver with Ten-Tec PS and original manuals. This has one bad pull-out RF power switch. But unles you’re planning to run low power, you would never use the switch. Otherwise works fine. With original manuals, hand mic and paperwork. $275

National Rackmount HRO with rack, coil cabinet, power supply and speaker. This is an early pre‑war HRO, about 1936. It has 9 Coils: 50‑100kc, 100‑200kc, 175‑400kc, .5‑1.0mc, .9‑2.0mc, 1.7‑4.0mc, 3.5‑7.3mc, 7.0‑14.4mc,14.0‑30mc, with a wooden coil box for 3 coils. This has been repainted with Krylon satin black. The original crackle shows through pretty well and it doesn’t look bad at all. The receiver is untested. The speaker was re‑coned by Jackson speaker service. The Power supply was restored and tested by me in 2001. This is currently in an Altec PA system rack which is too small to include the power supply. Alternatively, I can supply an open-back black wrinkle desktop rack for it--but it is also too small to hold all the components. With
Original of newer HRO manual and Photocopy of older style.

General Radio W10MT3 Variac Autotransformer 0-140V, 10A. Near-mint. The finest example of the breed ever made. Comes with original copy of General Radio “Handbook of Voltage Control With The Variac Autotransformer.” This little treasure is a 40-page booklet published in 1963 by General Radio Company which "designed, patented, introduced and manufactured" the Variac sometime around 1933. It is in an 8.5 x x11 format. The booklet contains 12 pages on Theory and Principles, 19 pages on circuits using Variacs and 8 pages on specific Variac applications. All the GR Variac models are discussed in detail including connection diagrams and so forth. One section shows how to use Variacs in series and parallel applications (with the use of a choke to prevent current oscillation when the 2 Variacs' brushes are not perfectly synchronized). Motor-driven Variacs are also discussed. In short, this may be all you ever wanted to know (and then some) about the mighty
Variac. $125 for W10MT3 Variac with original GR booklet.

I have 2 reprint-quality copies of the GR booklet also available for $9.50 each PPD.
