I have for sale a repair or parts unit Icom 751A. It comes with a photocopy
of the manual but no mic or power cord. It has a problem in that it seems
"brain dead" but it can't be the RAM battery problem that occured with this
model.
The 751A has the Piexx ROM board installed, with a good battery, so that
isn't the problem. I can't guarantee that the ROM board isn't bad, but in
talking to Scott Malcom at MTS he didn't think that was the problem. Here
is what else I can tell you about the 751A:
It is in surpurb condition for its age. The face is really
clean and both halves of the case look really nice also. It has the FL32
500hz filter in it, and the FL44 SSB filter. It is the 3rd generation 751A
with the new Icom logo and PBT enabled from the factory. The serial number
is 9500.
Now for the problem with it: The S meter light comes on, the green receive
LED comes on, and the red LED will come on when you put the rig into
transmit by the transmit/receive switch.
There is no sound coming out of the speaker, but the green receive LED will
go out if you increase the squelch. I tried putting it into RTTY mode and
transmitting to see if there is any power out, and it didn't show anything,
but I cant be sure I was in RTTY mode as there is nothing on the digital
display. Pushing the FUNC button does not light up that LED, though.
So, there is no transmit and receive on it, and no display. Here is what
Scott Malcom at MTS had to say when I described the problem to him:

Hi John:
>From the description, I would think repair would be under $100 (plus return
shipping). It is either a PLL or a Logic unit issue.

I am asking $205 shipped in the US for it. I can take paypal, check, or MO.
