Having just been ripped off by a Ham who accepted a USPS MO 
and signed for the 1st class letter it was in I'm not sure 
how safe they are.

I am waiting to hear back from the US Postal Inspector if 
they intend to do anything to prosecute this Federal crime 
and get my money back ... but I am not holding my breath.

The reason I have avoided so-called bank money orders is 
that it is impossible at a glance to tell if the bank is 
real or if it's a fake - it is a real mess if deposited and 
then it bounces.  A USPS MO may be turned in for cash.
