On behalf of W8DBF, Duane Fischer -

The new first class postage for an envelope no larger then the standard
"business size", is $.41 for the first ounce and $.17 for each ounce
thereafter.

Any envelope larger than the standard business envelope is $.80 for the
first ounce and $.17 for each ounce thereafter.

There are also exceptions for thickness and "oversize", such as 9.5X12
aprox. (Nobody seems to know what size 'oversize' actually is!)

The airmail rate is $.90 for the first ounce and an additional $.90 for each
ounce thereafter. This applies to envelopes, not packages!

The rates for Canada and Mexico are $.69 for the first ounce and an
additional $.31 for each ounce thereafter. Again, envelopes, not packages.

The Priority Mail one pound is now $4.60

The Priority Flat Rate is now $8.95 within the USA. A choice of two boxes,
no weight limit, no additional charges for certain zip codes or mileage etc.

Personally I believe that our government should take the postal service back
under their control, as deregulation for the post office has done nothing
but cost Americans a fortune with postal system mismanagement and waste that
NO other business could survive. But then again, only the post office can
charge anything they want, and increase it as often as they want, with no
superior to be accountable to and nobody to be accountable to. So they just
pass their mistakes on to Americans to absorb. Where else can we go? Looking
over the postal system increases during the past three years is enough to
make a vintage four function calculator grind a gear!
