Hi All,
I'm in the process of setting up my "mobile" installation, consisting of a
Kenwood TS-430 Transceiver, Alinco 2 Meter and a CB for road information.
Yes, there IS room for all the radios in this full sized pickup, but the CB
I have is too large to fit well with the bulk of the TS-430 etc (I would
have to nearly hide the CB under the TS-430 mount, making it inaccessible
while driving).
I know that this isn't 'really' amateur related, but I'd like to swap my
present CB transceiver for a 'smaller' unit, the smaller the better.
What I have:
Very clean Cobra 29LTD Classic (a truckers favorite) with a lot of "bells
and whistles". Besides the usual Volume, Squelch and channel controls it
has "Dynamike (Mike Gain), RF Gain, Delta Tune, SWR calibrate (internal SWR
meter), Bright/dim switch, a VERY effective Noise Blanker/Limiter, Channel
9/Normal switch etc.
It HAS NOT been hacked, modded or Tweaked and Peaked, so it is still FCC
certified. There are two small holes on the bottom face where rubber feet
were mounted, I put black screws in them and it looks fine. This radio
typically sells for 99.99 new. The Mike isn't original, but looks good and
works correctly. The size is about 7 1/2 inches wide, 9 1/2 inches deep and
2 1/2 inches high and comes with original bracket, no manual.
WHAT I WANT:
A LATE model, nearly new condition 40 chan CB that is more compact than the
one I have. It should be about 6 inches or LESS deep (width isn't very
critical), microphone and cord in good condition AND the factory mounting
bracket. Since I'm no longer a CB enthusiast but just want it for road
information, I'm not overly critical about bells and whistles. Manual would
be nice, but not important (some years back I used to repair CB's and know
these critters inside and out). A couple of present models that, because of
their size would be suitable are the Cobra 20XTR, Cobra 19DX IV (though it's
a little deeper), Uniden Pro-520XL. Uniden PC68 etc. NOTE: IF YOUR RADIO
HAS BEEN HACKED OR MODDED I HAVE NO INTEREST IN IT!
Terms:
Straight trade, each handles shipping of their own radio.
