Simon,
This may be useful to others also, so I'll send it to the list.
It is extremely wise of you to not use the "Vacation responder" option
in your mail client. This can cause havoc with lists. I've seen
several instances where an endless loop of "I am on vacation" emails
were sent to the list.
There are two ways to halt delivery of QTH.net emails without
otherwise affecting your subscription.
1. USING EMAIL
Send an email to:
<name of list>-request at mailman.qth.net
In the body of the message enter:
set authenticate <yourpassword>
set delivery off
end
Don't use the brackets < >
For example, for this list a typical message would look like:
to:
ForSale-Swap-request at mailman.qth.net
Message body:
set authenticate pswd1234
set delivery off
end
When you return from vacation, change "set delivery off" to "set delivery on"
2. USING A WEB BROWSER
a. Go to http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/options/forsale-swap
b. Enter your password and click the "Log-in" button.
c. This will take you to the "options" page.
d. Look for the "Mail delivery" option
e. Select "Disabled"
f. Check "Set globally" if you want to pause all your QTH.net subscriptions.
g. At the bottom of the page, click on "Submit my changes"
