Not shown is a turns counter. Mine is a magnet attached to a hub on the 
outside end of the bobbin shaft. It passes near a reed relay which completes 
a circuit of 2 each 9 volt batteries in series with a little 24 volt 3 digit 
resetable counter. Not pretty but........ You can go mechanical, electrical 
or a combination . Knock yourself out.
