OK ... you've all convinced me about beams being sold here.
So, I'm going to give it a shot and see if anyone here is interested in
a purchase or a trade.
Have FS a Mosley Classic 33 tribander. I recently assisted in taking
this down from a 35 foot tower at a ham widow's house
in preparation for her moving. It it is what I would call between good
and very good condition. The ham was using it before he became an SK,
so it hasnt been sitting up on the tower unused for years. In fact,
the Yaesu rotator, which went to another of our group who helped take
down the tower and tribander, looked brand new. (I got the beam and
the 35' tower by mutual agreement. Already have a spare Ham 3 so wasnt
too sad about not getting the rotator). The widow is selling the
equipment on consignment at a local ham store and told us if we'd come
take down the tower and beam and a few other assorted antennas, they
were ours to divvy up as we saw fit... How could anyone refuse an
offer like that? (grin)
Several of those who helped take it down were the same who helped put it
up and so they had good knowledge of the antenna, and they told me it
was a good antenna and did a good job for the SK. Cosmetically, no
bends and the traps look to be in good condition ... just the usual
buffed color you find on aluminum traps after being exposed to the
weather for a period of years.
Now, if youre wondering why I'm selling it instead of putting it up ....
It is because I already have a four element tribander up at 30 feet.
AND, there is no way my wife would tolerate a second one going up. She
barely tolerates the 4 element one ... and mainly because it was put up
one afternoon while she was at work (sneaky huh .. An easier to ask for
forgiveness than permission type of thing. HI HI)...
The 35 foot tower will be erected next to the carport and my 4 element
will be transferred to it and the 20 foot tower on top of the carport
will be taken down. That may bring a smile to the XYL ... until she
goes downstairs again and sees the shack. (HAVE to get a door put on the
shack room).
Anyhow ... that's the scoop. If interested in a buy or trade, contact
me...
