I think you had better rethink what you are saying about this person.  
He sold you a non working not checked out unit and clearly stated it in 
his listing.  He didn't say it was in excellent shape.  I beleive you 
got exactly what the listing stated and at a good price also.  Sounds to 
me like what you got was a fixer upper just like the listing stated. 
Next time you are buying something on eBay ask questions and buy one 
that is quaranteed to work and you will be OK  
 Just for the record I have bought more junk from people on the 
newsgroups and other sites than I have ever bought on eBay.  I have 
bought a lot of almost prefect items off eBay but had to pay for them 
also.  I guess you get what you pay for.  There are no free lunches.
