I'm new to ham radio and I have been gathering equipment. I have a
Kenwood TS-930S for 160-10 meters. Now I would like to get a dual
band (at least) mobile for my shack. What I would really like to get
is the Yaesu FT-8900 Quad Band.
I know many of you are interested in Art Bell, the founder and
current weekend host of Coast to Coast AM. I bought his Heil PR-40
mic, SM-2 shock mount, and PL-2T "topless" boom that he used in his
ham shack. The mic cable even has a sticker in his own handwriting
that says "8 band mic in" where he ran it into his W2IHY 8 band
equalizer/ noise gate. There are many pics of this particular mic of
mine that he owned on the web, including the Heil web site. On the
Heil site, it shows he and Bob Heil in Art's ham shack with Art's
mouth up to the mic. The caption under it reads something like "This
is the best mic I have ever had [or used ]."
I hate to part with the mic setup since I've been an avid fan of Art
Bell since I turned 18 just over ten years ago, but I would really
like a Yaesu 8900, or AT LEAST a dual band 2 meter, 70 cm.
If anyone is interested in trading or knows where a good cash deal is
for the type radios I'm looking for, please e-mail me at donmcm63 at bellsouth.net
Take care,
