Hi all, I have for sale a gateway solo 2500 laptop. it has a 400 MHz
processor, 196 MB of RAM, a 6 GB HD, 56 I PCMCIA Xircom cradit card modem, 1
serial port, 1 parallel port, VGA port, 2 USB, RCA jack for hooking to TV
for display, docking station hookup, infered port, CD ROM drive, floppy
drive, touch pad mouse, PS2 port for adding a keyboard or mouse, sound card
with the speakers in the front of the laptop and headphone and mic and line
in ports, thumb wheel volume control. unit is in great shape and works
great. I have a new laptop and this is my backup, unfortunately I need money
right now more than the computer, it's in great shape other than 1 small
crack on the back of the display by the hinge which was known to happen on
all of these laptops due to the design of the hinge, does not take away from
performance or anything. It comes with windows 98 installed, and the CD, the
drivers CD's for everything that comes with it, charger and the battery.
Battery doesn't last as long as it used to but there is a program on the
gateway site that reconditions the battery and last time I lost some battery
life it did restore it back to original life but being that it's older it
probably is gone. The manual is also included. This would make a great
computer for some one on a budget going to school or ham shack for packet or
logging which I used it for a couple years, or anything that doesn't require
the latest and greatest. It works great, I used it on vacation when my other
laptop was not working for internet and everything and it runs very well.
I'm asking $100 for it plus shipping, I'll consider reasonable offers. For
an additional $15, I'll throw in a linksys WRC11 WIFI card. Not sure if I'll
throw in the carrying case just yet or not but probably. Email
n1umj at arrl.net if interested.
