First taking a digital picture is not hard to do and emailing them is
even easier. Second another reason to ask for a picture if you don't
know the person on the other end is to see if he even has the piece of
equipment that he is selling. Taking a picture is not the reason some
don't use eBay it is because it takes time to set up the listing and the
fees start adding up on big items. Then there are those that for
whatever reason just can not figure out how to list an item on eBay but
they make good eBay buyers.
I will almost always ask for a picture and then depending on the answer
I get I will stop the deal or proceed.
I can remember a couple of times in the past where a picture would have
stopped me from buying. I usually always try to ask a lot of questions
but sometimes I miss some simple ones like is there any modifications /
extra holes anyplace.
