I use the USPS Click-N-Ship a lot and have had no problems at all.
After the label is printed, I use a paper cutter to cut it to size and use 
Elmer's no wrinkle rubber cement (Staples, Office Depot) to attach the label 
to the box. The rubber cement is a lot easier than taping and clean up is 
easy. (BTW, the PO does not want you to tape over the barcode part of the 
label).
Most of the shipping supplies are free and the PO will send them to you at 
no charge; look on their web site for ordering info.
You can also schedule a pick up if you have at least one Express or Priority 
Mail package or envelope.
Holy Cow! I sound like a commercial for the Post Office!
