For Sale: Tubes and Headphones.
TUBES
Four 224 Globe-shaped tubes, One Zenith, one
Silvertone and Two Crosley BLUE made by Arcturus.
These all test good. All 4: $30 plus $8.60 priority
flat rate box mailing with tracking.
Three 45 tubes in ST-shaped bulbs. One Raytheon tests
like new. Two RCA test just good, not strong. All 3:
$25 plus $8.60 priority flat rate box mailing with
tracking.
One 10Y tube in ST-shaped bulb, Sylvania JAN, tests
like new. The 10Y is equivalent to an 801 and was used
as the driver in the BC-375 and -191 WWII
transmitters. It can also replace a type 10 in your
Hartley or golden ears amplifier with no changes. $15
plus $8.60 priority flat rate box mailing with
tracking.
HEADPHONES: Classic headphones from the 1920s era of
early broadcast radio. Some uncommon headphones are in
this group. I can get about 3 pairs of headphones in
one flat rate box. A single pair would probably be
$5.50 or so parcel post with tracking.
Delta brand made in Marion, Indiana, with chrome ear
pieces and nice cloth headband. But the cloth cord is
unraveling and there is an unoriginal 1/4 inch phone
plug on the end of it. $8
OBrunet made in Paris, with lots of problems. Metal
headband has unoriginal adjustment nut on one side.
Bakelite earpieces are cracked and falling apart. The
aluminum back of the earpieces has corrosion that
needs cleaned off. The original rubber cord is in good
shape but it has a US WWII PL-55 plug on the end.
Earpieces marked 2000 ohms. $6
PAL Trademark headset with nice cloth headband.
Earpieces need heavy cleaning. No cord at all. $6
Connecticut Telephone and Telegraph headset with
leather-covered metal headband in good condition and
chrome earpieces that need cleaned. Cloth cord is in
nice shape but has unoriginal 1/4 inch phone plug at
the end. Rare headphones. $19
Tower Little Spitfire headset. Metal on earpieces
has light corrosion and needs cleaned. Cloth cord with
pin jacks is mildly unraveling in spots. Classic early
SWL headphones that were highly regarded at the time.

Western Electric 209W with nice cloth headband and
poor cloth cord with pin jacks. Metal on earpieces
needs polished. $10
Pennsylvania Type B made by Hamburg Brothers in
Pittsburgh. Small chip. Cloth headband is good.
Earpieces are good. Cloth cord is good but not
attached to earpieces and tiny nuts to make
connections may be missing. $10
Kellogg S&S Co. Model 82-A Black paint on earpieces
largely scuffed off. Good cloth headband. Cloth cord
unraveling at earpieces but otherwise good. Quality
headset. $10
Murdock #56. Earpieces need cleaned. Cloth cord is
unraveling at earpieces. Canvas covering is coming off
of headband wires. Famous headset. $8
HEADSETS BELOW ARE ALL $5 EACH. These all have pin
jacks unless noted otherwise.
C. Brandes Superior Matched Tone. Small chip. Good
earpieces. Good cloth cord with pin jacks. Canvas
covering has come off of headband wires. Ref . #17

Trimm Commercial. Leather covering on headband needs
cleaned up. Otherwise nice. PL-55 plug. Ref #18.
Brandes Superior Matched Tone. Small chip. Earpieces
need cleaned. El-cheapo headband. Headband and cord in
good shape. Ref # 19.
Brandes Superior Matched Tone. Earpieces need cleaned.
Canvas covering coming off of headband wires. Cord is
fraying in spots and ends in bare wires. Ref # 21.
Brandes Superior Matched Tone. Nice in all respects
except that cord ends in bare wires. Ref # 25.
Cannon-Ball Empire. Vinyl-covered headband good. Good
cloth cord. Nice shape. Ref #23.
General Phones Corp. headset. Big rubber and vinyl
ugly things, probably 1950s vintage--not 1920s. Most
likely used for hearing testing. 5711 Howe Street,
Pittsburgh 32 PA. Nice shape but one ear cushion is
bent out of shape.
Frost Fones No. 161. Marked 1000--which is ohms I
assume
Nice shape in every respect.
Frost Fones No. 163. Marked 1500--which is ohms I
assume
Nice shape except that cloth cord is
disconnected from one of the earpieces. Cord ends in
terminal lugs.
Classic 1950s switchboard operator headset with mic
attached top earpiece. Cord terminates in dual-1/4
inch phone plug. But headband is missing.
Unusual headset with nice adjustable wide metal
headband and good earpieces. Earpieces attach to
headband with a single clip on the back instead of the
traditional Y-shaped arm. But there is no cord and no
identifying marks of any kind. Good condition.
