Why Only CONUS?

First, Hawaii IS part of the US so customs paperwork isn't necessary. Second,
UPS Ground really exists between there and here and gets here as fast as 2nd
day as often as not. Third, USPS flat rate boxes are the same rate here and,
yes, you can still load them up as much as possible even to Hawaii. A
gentleman sends me 40# of mixed metal pieces for my shop every month from the
mainland in one and the Postal Fuzz haven’t even raised an eyebrow. (One of
the postal delivery people was a bit surprised by the weight by I told him it
was weapons grade Plutonium and he was happy.) Fourth, it costs the same to
pack a box for Hawaii as it does for Nebraska so you don't have to tack on
extra handling charges for us. Or Alaska, for that matter, which also happens
to be part of the US.

For lighter items, Priority (NOT International Priority!) is good but with the
recent rate changes, heavier items should go Parcel Post. See? PP and
Priority. Not some magical mythical International rate but good old normal
domestic USPS. We’re Zone 8 from everywhere so it’s not even difficult to
figure out the cost. Hey, and USPS insurance works too just like on the
mainland. And, as an added note, UPS 2nd Day, UPS Ground and USPS Priority all
take about the same amount of time, but cost Exorbitant, Slightly Less
Exorbitant, and Fairly Reasonable (considering the distance) in that order.

So, why only CONUS? *sigh*
 Lolo haoles!

Michael
