Drake 2B receiver. Receives very well like it should. S meter deflection
is not what it ought to be. It could be that R67 just needs to be
adjusted. I have not looked into it.
I got this one in pretty sad shape. The chassis was very dirty and the
copper plating mostly gone. I had to strip the chassis and bead blast it
to get it cleaned up. They I sealed it with a conformal humiseal coating
and rebuilt it. The cabinet is straight and has only minor scratches.
The silver rings on the knobs are dull and pitted.
It comes with the standard crystal compliment. Note that when I got it
it had no crystals, and I used modern HC-49 crystals (ordered from
Mouser) and built them into the HC-6U cans. Works great, looks great,
numbers stamped on cans not right. (I did write the frequency on the
cans though)
It is now very clean and would make a good receiver for someone who
wants to use a 2B. (as opposed to just looking at one on a shelf)
I have been using it here at work to listen to HF. It is pictured on
page 84 of the January 2003 QST with the N0XY 'ice cube' MOPA transmitter.
Still interested? Well, just drop me a line. It's a good receiver and
the Drake 2B enjoys an excellent reputation.
$100 plus shipping
Thanks,
