[ForSale-Swap] the other side of various ebay radios ...

Hey, after two days of this thread, I've got it
solved. There are two foolproof ways to avoid all of
tht pitfalls discussed herein ad nauseum. Option 1:
hop a plane with a pocket full of cash and test the
item for a day or two at the seller's place before
buying. Eliminiates all risk of having a sale go
sour, not getting the item you think you've bought,
not knowing who you bought from, and you don't have to
worry about UPS drop kicking your prize. Added
benefits: if you think the item was misrepresented,
you can always flatten the seller on the spot, and
you don't have to whine about eBay not sending you a
sympathy card if you get taken. Option 2: Keep your
money in your pocket and paste a photo of the object
of your desire on your operating desk.
Now, there have been some good suggestions about how
we can protect ourselves, but nothing's 100%, and
despite what we'd like, neither eBay nor PayPal are
going to save us. Life's a risk. Get over it.
