Good starter rig or backup?

Yaesu FT-101ZD transceiver.  Has got regulated to shelf duty due to
upgrading.  This rig served me very well, bought it prior to going
over to Portugal and used it there and back in the states and then 
while I was in Switzerland. [Worked at least 150 countries while
HB9IBA, and all I used was this rig and a AEA ISO-LOOP ant
that was in our attic under a METAL roof!!! [Still have the ant
in the original carton, and may put it up if I cannot get my darn
tower 'planted'].  Anyway, only blemish I can see is where I rubbed
off some of the paint by the main tuning dial.
