1. RF COMPONENTS MAXI-TUNER 3KW+ 160-10M  Some cosmetic flaws,
one slipping vernier, three new nylon feet, otherwise orig..

 From eHam: "...manufactured by RF Power Components of Ladysmith,
WI in the '70s and '80s. The design was based on an improved
"Ultimate Transmatch" design. It provided continuous coverage
from 1.7 to 30MHz and was rated at 3kW PEP. Quality components
were used throughout including: a Multronics (EF Johnson) 229-203
28uH rotary inductor, two 6kV Peak-to-Peak 500pF variable capacitors,
heavy-duty balun, cast aluminum turns counter for the rotary inductor,
6:1 ratio vernier drives with 0-100 logging scales on both variable
capacitors, and a "Monimatch" SWR metering system. The MaxiTuner
was built into a LMB CO-1 Collins-style cabinet, matching the Collins
S-Line in design and color. The MaxiTuner accepted both coax and
balanced-line transmission lines.".

2.  JOHNSON VIKING MATCHBOX TUNER.  Cosmetically &
electrically "challenged".  Someone stacked a Johnson Model
229-201 roller inductor above the existing tapped inductor
and wired it into the circuit.  They also made a number of
other changes.  The faceplate has been modified, the
two original large knobs are still there, as is the
Johnson 250-37 Directional Coupler and meter.  Missing
are the band select knob, the three ceramic antenna
connectors on the back, and the wire connect strip.
Looks like a good idea with a bad cosmetic side effect.
