I bought this new, fully-assembled G5RV for 10 thru 80 meters but never
had it out of the box due to health and other personal problems. It is
constructed like a tank! Solid...with quality wire, rugged spreaders,
and Budwig end insulators. (This G5RV was constructed by an Electronic
Technician Chief in the US Navy. He has had more than 15 years of
experience in practical antenna construction and it shows in his work!
Lovely!)

This G5RV is made with open wire feeders as Louis Varney (callsign G5RV
and the designer of the antenna) recommended for best performance.

The flat top portion of the antenna is made up of two 51-ft sections of
12-gauge copper stranded insulated wire.

At both ends of the flat top are Budwig glass fiber-filled end
insulators with steel wire rope clamps holding the wire in place. The
use of wire rope clamps prevents wire breaks caused by flexing of ends
that are merely soldered over the insulators.

The vertical 34-ft (600-ohm open wire feeder) section is also made of
12-gauge copper stranded insulated wire (two wires separated by
spreaders). The 600-ohm, 12-gauge model is among the best performing of
all the various G5RV's that have been seen to date. It is far more
efficient than 16-gauge models, handles an amplifier with less chance of
melting into a gooey mess, and is far less subject to stress cracks
common in solid-core wire construction.

The UHF connector at the base of the antenna has a sealed weather cover
to minimize oxidation and corrosion from the nasty elements of Nature.

This weather cover combined with the use of large gauge, insulated wire
makes for a quieter, longer-lasting, oxidation-free antenna than
cheaper competitors which use non-insulated wire and often rust through
in a few months.

This quality G5RV antenna is fed by 50ohm coax (not supplied) from your
antenna tuner and is designed for use on 10 through 80 meters.

The antenna does not require a balun.

New In the Box (NIB) and ready to ship via FedEx Ground the day
following receipt of your payment.

The first $35 gets it!! (includes shipping).

CONUS ONLY, please. Prefer Money Orders but will accept your personal
check.
