[ForSale-Swap] AF Nickel Cadmium Batteries

QUESTION TO THE GROUP:
In Reference to the Simpson # 461 Digital voltmeter:

The battery's in my voltmeter have deteriorated to a point where they 

will not take a charge any more. These batteries are in size, about half way between AA size and C size cell. In the battey case of the voltmeter itself it says "AF Nickel Cadmium Part # 6-110069". My question to the group is:

 What is the voltage and AH of these batteries?

Is there a after market battery that I can use?

If there is a after market battery, what is the part # and where can it be acquired?
