For any of you ATV buffs that enjoy experimenting, I came across a
vidicon camera that I built around 1965 & would like to sell since my
current interests & need for money are for eme.
This camera circuit was designed by Mel, W0KYQ, who is the owner of ATV
Research, Inc. I remember his callsign well since at that time mine was
K7KYQ. It is VERY nicely constructed in a 10 x 8 x 7" cabinet & is
complete with built in pwr supply, 7038 vidicon tube, 5 other tubes, &
an adjustable 1" f/2.5 lens. There is a single transistor on a board
that was a mod I made to the original circuit & it's drawn on the
schematic.
I have the complete documentation for it including Mel's construction
manual, vidicon data sheet & info sheets on the focus coil & deflection
coils. Paint on the cabinet is in vy gud condx & all controls are
labelled with decals which still are all intact. It weights abt 12 lbs.
Unfortunately, I don't hv a digital camera to take pictures so, if
anyone needs them, I'd hv to take some the old fashioned way, get them
developed & scan them into my computer.
Operating condx is unknown. It worked for me well for several yrs in
the late '60's & has bn sitting in a storage cabinet since then. I do
see one insulated cable disconnected at both ends inside & there are
several electrolytics which may need replacing. So, it's being sold "as
is".
Reduced to $60 OBO + shipping fm zipcode 92708. Think the lens & parts
are
worth lots more than that. It looks much too nice to me to tear it
apart & hope someone reading this may hv the desire to play around with
it.
Tnx for reading & 73,
Bob, K6PF
