Hi.
I have a nice Kenwood YG455C-1 CW filter with the following specs.
1. Center frequency 455 KHz.
2. Bandwidth 500 Hz.
3. I was told this came out of a TS-940 and I understand that the -1 in the
model number indicates that it's on a plug in circuit board. This one IS
NOT on a plug in board, someone apparently removed it before I received it.
HOWEVER, it can be easily connected using a pair of short coax cables to
MOST receivers that use a 455KHz IF frequency such as an Kenwood R-1000 etc.
Should also work fine in an Icom R-71/R-70 (with coax leads) or any other
set having 455KZC IF and room for it (2.5 x .8 x .75 inches). I once used
one of these in a JRC NRD-525 receiver though that set needs two DC blocking
caps installed to use a Kenwood filter. I bought it for a Yaesu FRG-100
(which it worked well in) and kept it when I sold the receiver as I planned
on putting it in my new Icom IC-718 Transceiver. However, the filter is
just a little too large to fit the circuit board and there is no room to
"remote mount" it with jumpers. Being a brand new radio I don't want to
void my warranty with an oddball setup.
I will take a money order/Cashier Check for $40.00 USD and that INCLUDES
shipping in the lower 48. HEY, that's cheap for a good CW filter!
