I have an extra computer for sale or trade.

I have used it to run digital modes (PSK, RTTY, and SSTV), and control
for my IC737 through an external CI-V interface. I have also used it
for email, internet access, logging, schematic drawing, and project
documentation.

Steel tower case with two 5-1/4 and two 3-1/2 inch drive bays.
VA-502 motherboard 512k cache, lots of other features (with manual)
COM1, COM2, PRN1, PS2 mouse, Standard 5-pin (large) keyboard connector
3D RAGE II + DVD pci video card with 4meg memory
RL 8028 pci ethernet card with BNC and RJ connectors
Sound Blaster AWE 64 sound card
3-1/2 inch 1.4meg floppy
Acer 32X CDROM drive
Maxtor 88400D8 hard drive ( 8 gig, no bad sectors)
Motherboard has two open pci slots and two open isa slots.
AMD K5-PR166 cpu running at 125mhz
32meg system ram (upgradable to 512meg max)- 4-72pin simm, 2-dimm slots.

It is older technology but is not a junker. It is reliable, works well,
and fast enough for most software. It would not make a good 'game'
machine even though it has decent video and sound..

Runs Windows 98SE with all updates
Also comes with Digpan7, Communicator 4.6, Acrobat reader, Enzip, and
Zone alarm firewall.

It is in good condition. Recently serviced ( new cmos battery and quiet
cpu fan plus thorough cleaning and diagnostics checks).

Network ready to hook to LAN, Cable modem, or DSL modem.

You provide mouse, monitor, keyboard, speakers (if desired) and dialup
modem ( if needed)..

I will provide the computer and any instructional help you need via
email.

Shipping is 20lbs from 75080 to be paid by buyer. Prefer pickup so you
can see what you are getting and I can see what I am getting. I am
located in Richardson, TX.

Will consider all cash offers or trades for ham equipment ( receivers,
transmitters, transverters (2meter), transceivers, 2meter mobile or
handheld, boatanchors or other, working or not. If not working, must be
repairable ( not interested in hacked gear ready for the dust bin, or
'parts only' rigs).

For those interested in trying Linux, I can offer Mandrake 8.1, fully
installed and configured for this machine, on a seperate hard drive (1
to 2 gig), with removeable hard drive bay so you can go from windows to
linux just by swapping hard drives ( after power down, no hot
swapping). That way linux won't trash windows and windows will not
trash linux regardless of how hard you try. Linux option is an
additional $125 or equipment of comparable value. The Linux option is
not available at that price seperately and probably not available at any
price because the installation really needs to be done on the target
machine. Don't like Mandrake? I can do Red Hat too and even earlier
versions of DOS, if needed or desired.

For those who need a dialup modem, I can swap out the ethernet card for
a 56k dialup. Modem will be installed and working with the software,
just connect a phone line and power up. Internal modem on com3 so you
still have com1 and com2 available for ham use.

Frank Kamp
