It can be done and I have included a couple of links to purveyors that sell
the appropriate cable. The cables aren't cheap. If you are trying to
accomplish "mobile data" you will be sorely disapointed. Analog cellular data
rates run around 4.8Kb. Not to mention that when you drive between cell sites
your call will drop during the hand off process. I've used analog data (when
analog is all there was) and it is _usable_ for just text. I had an OKI phone
with an interface box. It was better than driving many miles to get dial
tone. Now we are using Sierra Wireless 1Xrtt CDMA PCMCIA cards in our lap
tops. Getting data rates about 150Kb! Since CDMA technology uses soft
handoff (talks to several towers at the same time) I can drive down the road
while connected to the internet. Yes I know that sounds dangerous, I pull
over to read my email!
