I have a General Dynamics SC-910E SSB/AM/CW synthesized exciter (Serial #1)
from around 1960. It covers 2-30 MHz, selectable via rotary switches down
to the nearest 1 KHz. It puts out 100 mW for driving a multi-stage
amplifier that will accept the low-level output and provide a higher output
power. I believe that this unit was part of a US Army experimental SSB
station (AN/GRC-108 XC-1); I have US Army photo album of the experimental
station that shows what I believe is this very exciter. Included are a
manual and handset.

The unit is offered for sale as-is. It powers up (from 115 VAC) and goes
through its tuning routine, but it does not output power. I did not
troubleshoot it. I planned on getting it up and operating in conjunction
with a Gates HFL-1000 amplifier that came from the same station, but I
realize that I'm probably never going to get around to it, so I'm going to
sell the exciter and the amp (the amp will be offered for sale under
separate cover). It is in very good physical condition inside, and the
front panel is in good condition; the outside of the case is badly
scratched, but it does not appear to be damaged otherwise. I have photos of
the front panel and inside that I can e-mail to interested parties.

I am open to offers. Due to the size and weight of this unit I will not
pack and ship it. It is located in Northern NJ, Sussex County. It can be
picked up at my home or I can bring it to the Harrisburg, PA area where I
work.

Jim
