This looks like a version of the "Single-Band SSB Transceiver", W6QKI
(Swan) design, published in Bill Orr's Radio Handbook. It was presented
as a 160m, 80m, 40m, OR 20m Transceiver ...hence the "Single-Band". The
main modification is that this one has been modified with a bandswitch to
cover 80m, 40m, AND 20m. A copy of the article will be included. The main
tube lineup is 6JB6 sweep tube for the final, 12BY7 for the driver, 12BE6
for the mixers, 12AU6 for the VFO, 12BA6 for the IF, 7360 for the
balanced modulator, 6U8 for the Oscillator, 12AX7 for the detector, 6AL5
for the AGC, 6AQ5 for the audio out, 0A2 regulator, etc. This unit will
require an external power supply. The 9Mhz crystal filter is homemade.
Unit has a steel mesh cover (from a Drake ? Swan ?) which is shown in the
"back" view. Attached are some additioanl pictures. I have not powered
the unit up and it's sold as-is, but if you are familiar with old
homebrew equipment, it's a pretty good example of what hams did in the
60s. Aa
sking $100 plus $17 for FedEx Ground shipping in the lower 48.
