Hello
I'm presently doing some long needed software upgrades to my radio room
computer. I think that I'll try to upgrade the shack 'pooter at the same
time as some of my present software runs VERY slowly on this HP Pentium 200
(27 minutes for a SWL database report).

So, towards that end I will offer my BEST general coverage shortwave
receiver for a direct swap for a computer that meets the following criteria.

What I want:
Processor: Either Intel or AMDK6-III (no Cyrix), GREATER than 500 MHz.
Memory: 128MB or GREATER. Prefer 100Mhz or better fsb.
Harddrive: Greater than 10GB. Hopefully room in case for 2nd hdd.
CD Rom: 32X or greater.
Modem: 56k V90
Floppy: Standard 1.44MB
Video: 16 & 24 bit 'truecolor', 16MB or more video ram (prefer NOT to
have the video as part of the Motherboard) .
Ports: 2 serial, Parallel printer, USB, PS2 Mouse & keyboard.
Audio card: Soundblaster 16 bit (prefer NOT to have it on motherboard)
Slots: ISA, PCI (and hopefully) AGP (?)
Case: Prefer mini tower but open to others. NO Packard Bells or
                  other "Proprietary" machines.
Software: Hopefully come with the Win98SE as a factory load
with factory disks. Especially need the "brain" but
if it comes with monitor, KB, mouse etc that's even better.

WHAT I OFFER IN TRADE:
My 'best' shortwave receiver, the description of which follows. I place the
value of the receiver at about $525.00 with all the filters etc that are in
it. I expect a 'pooter of about equal value.

Kenwood R-5000 general coverage receiver with the following.
1. 3 Optional Kenwood filters (4 total) which are.
    YK88A 6kHz premium AM filter.
    YK88SN 1.8kHz Narrow SSB filter.
    YK88CN 270Hz Narrow CW filter.
Stock YK88S filter (wide SSB filter).
2. IC10 computer interface chip set (still need outboard level conv).
3. AC/DC power cords, copies of both owners AND service manuals.
4. Cosmetics: At LEAST and 8.5 of 10. Looks very nice and works VERY
well.

Making the deal: If we are able to come up with a reasonable deal on a
direct swap, then each individual will be responsible for safely double
boxing & packing their respective equipment and shipping it insured at a
$500.00 value. IF the deal is "lopsided", I.E. radio worth more than the
computer offered then I expect the 'pooter owner to handle shipping both
ways as I have a very limited budget to work with.

If I'm not familiar with the individual I'm swapping with I may like to
"chat" with you on the telephone for both of our peace of mind 8^).
